Starbucks-style Birthday Cake Pops

Here’s a recipe to make Starbucks-style Birthday Cake Pops at home! These cake pops are a fun, festive treat with a moist cake center, covered in colorful coating and sprinkles.

Ingredients:

For the cake:

  • 1 box of white cake mix (or use your favorite homemade cake recipe)
  • Ingredients required to make the cake (usually eggs, oil, and water)

For the frosting:

  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For coating and decorating:

  • 12 oz white chocolate or candy melts (you can also use almond bark)
  • Rainbow sprinkles or colored sprinkles
  • Lollipop sticks or cake pop sticks

Directions:

1. Bake the cake:

  1. Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box.
  2. Prepare the cake mix as per the box instructions (typically adding eggs, oil, and water) and bake the cake in a 9×13-inch pan or round cake pans.
  3. Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

2. Crumble the cake:

  1. Once the cake has cooled, break it apart into small crumbs. You can do this by using your hands or a fork.
  2. Place the crumbled cake into a large bowl.

3. Make the frosting:

  1. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

4. Shape the cake pops:

  3. Before the coating hardens, quickly sprinkle on the rainbow sprinkles.

6. Set and serve:

  1. Place the cake pops upright in a piece of Styrofoam or a cake pop stand to allow them to dry completely (about 30 minutes).
