Sticky Honey Garlic Steak

Ingredients:

  • 2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional for added depth)
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steaks:
  • Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time based on your preferred doneness).
  • Remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside to rest.
  1. Make the Sticky Honey Garlic Sauce:
  • In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  • Stir in the honey, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar (if using), and red pepper flakes. Let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  1. Finish the Steaks:
  • Add the steaks back into the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Let them cook in the sauce for another 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  • Remove the steaks from the skillet again, add the butter to the sauce, and stir until melted and the sauce is glossy.
  1. Serve:
  • Drizzle the sauce over the steaks and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Rotini Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb rotini pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (or fresh tomatoes, diced)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente (usually 8-10 minutes).
  • Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  1. Prepare the Sauce:
  • While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the diced tomatoes (with juices) to the pan, and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let the sauce simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  1. Combine:
  • Add the drained pasta to the pan with the sauce. Toss to combine, adding some reserved pasta water if needed to help coat the pasta in the sauce.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped basil (if using). Adjust the seasoning to taste.
  1. Serve:
  • Plate the rotini, sprinkle with extra Parmesan and fresh basil, and serve immediately.
