crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Here’s a crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Chicken Wings recipe that’s quick, easy, and perfect for game day, parties, or a snack attack:

 Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds (900g) chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (NOT baking soda – helps crispiness)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional for smoky flavor)
  • Cooking spray or a bit of oil

🍗 Optional Sauce Ideas:

  • Buffalo: 1/2 cup hot sauce + 2 tbsp melted butter
  • BBQ: Your favorite BBQ sauce
  • Garlic Parmesan: Melted butter, grated parmesan, garlic powder, and chopped parsley

Instructions:

  1. Dry the wings
Pat wings very dry with paper towels. Moisture is the enemy of crispiness.
  2. Coat the wings
In a bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Preheat air fryer (if needed)
Some models recommend preheating. Set to 380°F (193°C).
  4. Cook the wings
    • Place wings in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
    • Air fry at 380°F for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
    • Then increase to 400°F for the last 5 minutes to get them extra crispy.
  5. Toss in sauce (optional)
Place cooked wings in a large bowl and toss with your favorite sauce.
  6. Serve immediately
    Best served hot and fresh!

Tips:

  • Want extra crispy skin? Refrigerate the seasoned wings uncovered for a few hours before air frying (helps dry the skin).
  • Use parchment paper or foil for easier cleanup (if your air fryer allows it).
