Baked Chicken Wings

Here’s a simple and delicious Baked Chicken Wings recipe that results in crispy, flavorful wings without deep frying.

🍗 Baked Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds (about 1 kg) chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (aluminum-free)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional for color)
  • Optional: hot sauce, BBQ sauce, or honey garlic glaze for tossing after baking

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. This helps the heat circulate and makes the wings crispier.
  2. Prepare the Wings
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels — the drier, the crispier. Place them in a large bowl.
  3. Season the Wings
In a small bowl, mix the baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika. Sprinkle over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange on Rack
Spread the wings out on the rack in a single layer with a little space between each one.
  5. Bake
Bake for 40–50 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  6. Optional: Toss in Sauce
If using a sauce, toss the baked wings in your choice of hot sauce, BBQ, or honey garlic glaze immediately after baking.

📝 Tips:

  • Baking powder (not baking soda) is the secret to crispiness. It helps dry out the skin.
  • Letting wings air dry in the fridge for a few hours before baking also boosts crispiness.
  • You can broil them for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra crunch.
