- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar (packed)

- ⅓ cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 3 tbsp cold butter, cut into cubes
Instructions
- Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper if desired. - Make the Streusel
In a small bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in cold butter with a fork or pastry cutter until mixture is crumbly. Set aside. - Make the Batter
- In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
- Mix in vanilla and sour cream.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chopped apples.
- Assemble the Loaf
- Pour half the batter into the loaf pan.
- Sprinkle half the streusel over the batter.
- Add the remaining batter and smooth the top.
- Finish with the remaining streusel on top.
- Bake
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top browns too quickly, tent with foil during the last 15 minutes. - Cool and Serve
Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
Tips:
- Add ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
- Drizzle with a simple glaze (powdered sugar + milk) for a sweeter touch.
