Oatmeal cake applesauce

Ingredients:

  • 150 g of oat flakes
  • 200 g of applesauce
  • 100 g of plain yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 sachet of baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g of walnuts or hazelnuts (chonced)
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the oatmeal, baking powder and cinnamon (if you use one).
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the honey and yoghurt until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  4. Add the applesauce to the egg mixture and mix well.
  5. Add the oatmeal mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until everything is well combined.
  6. Stir in the chopped walnuts or hazelnuts to add a little crunch.
  7. Pour the dough into a previously greased mould.
  8. Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before unmoulding and enjoy!

Each serving contains about 180 calories, 6 g of protein, 4 g of fat, and a good source of fibre thanks to oatmeal.
